    I see and watch rebar workers bend their rebar rods without heating them... This is cold forming heat formed steel... Not advisable. Cold forming of heat formed steel actually breaks the rebar at a microscopic level and exposes the inner most rod to the corrosive effects of the concrete... When the rebar is heated and glowing in flames, the steel expands and is least likely to form microscopic breaks.

    When i was a kid, we played a game called "Battle Tech" and they had robots powered by metal muscles that contracted from electrical stimulation. Was that memory metal? Is that possible?     But how do they mantain the superelastic properties in such changing temperatures as it is on Mars? Mars temperature can vary more than 100ºC and Nitinol's superelasticity is only found 40ºC above transf. temperature
