What is your favorite model in the city lineup of the Serial 1 electric bikes by Harley Davidson?

I like the Mosh/CTY! For what I'd use it for, it was the most fun! But they all put an instant smile on my face and totally exceeded my expectations!!!

wow this video really changed my opinion on these, i thought they were some overpriced brand name bikes, but now i see the minimalist design and high end and low maintenance components are much more appealing. Any idea how much these bikes weigh?

TOTALLY recommend a test ride! It was way more impressive than I thought it'd be!

      The 4 models range from 48lbs to 60lbs! :)

They are all about 60 lbs. And I agree, the cost in my opinion is justified when you look at the care that went into designing these bikes.

$5K freaking dollars?!! No thanks Harley.

5 grand !!!! Waaaaaay over-priced.....likely built with mostly proprietary parts....even more expensive to repair....it's a "Harley" so lots of repairs will be necessary..... lots of choices for e-bikes are out there now...why buy this poo-poo? ... just get a keychain or t-shirt...more useful and a little less expensive.

It feels like ebike enthusiasts are very negative - they really DONT want to accept that this is a beautiful well thought out bike that will sell well.

I agree with you. I don't really understand why people don't like the package Serial 1 has put together. I think it will be compelling to a lot of people.

Nice bike, but forget about modding/upgrading except through what HD makes available, and doubtlessly at a stiff cost. Among the things I really like about RAD bikes is that the batteries are _not_ integrated into the frame, the motors and controllers are upgradable, cables are relatively accessible, etc.

I actually think you can modify more than you think! At the very least, go take a test ride! I was thoroughly impressed!

Yep....I went with a Rad Rover...one third the cost of these over-priced offerings

@Ebike Escape I completely agree. Nothing wrong with HD's approach, and those who value, say, aesthetics over ease of upgrading -- I imagine that those of us who like to tinker represent a relatively small minority of ebikers.

Good points! I too like that I can completely choose to strip my Rad bike if I choose. The Serial 1 ebikes will appeal to those who have no interest in this.

No mention of the gear ratio on the Mosh City? What are the sprocket sizes? Can maintain 20mph?

Hi Frank, thanks for sharing the information. I wish I would have spent more time with the MOSH.

      I found my answer: 50T front, 22T rear. 27.5" * 50T / 22T = 62.5" gear. That's only good for cruising upto about 15mph. Pathetic. Ride1UP Roadster V2 uses 27"*64T/20T = 85" - that's the kind of gearing this needs.

Harley definitely put a lot of engineering into these bikes. They have a lot of quality components but there is no suspension? It doesn’t matter how much quality parts if you have no suspension or fat tires.

Suspension on a bicycle will rob you of power, especially with hills. Fine on an off road bike but not a road bike, fat tires will also increase resistance, again less power to move. Yep, Harley would have very good componants the price actually doesn't seem bad, I was expecting them to cost more considering the cost of their motorcycles.

Remember these are truly setup for city riding. My hunch is there will be more models coming...

2.4" tires are plenty wide enough for me. No suspension needed or wanted.

Overpriced like Harley. Get full suspension bikes for same price point with stronger motors. And yes i do ride e-bikes, so do some research yourself.

@Altema22 I think the app & riding it & seeing the auto shifter would impress you more than you think, just like it did me! I was thoroughly impressed with these! I test rode this weekend, they're now available at most dealers in the south for!

I really would like to spend more time with it, customizing the settings in the Enviolo app. I'm a big fan of the no maintenance aspect.

@Ebike Escape - Thanks. I usually pedal anyways, but there are those times... 😉 I'm impressed with the quality, and can appreciate the low center of gravity. I'm not sure I'd want the shifting done for me all the time, or if the riding experience would be my style. Seems they could have given the option of a wireless shifter control.

Great looking rides and great design getting the cables hidden. I do have a concern, being in Oregon, about rain considering battery placement.

Great video! Those are high quality commuters! I wouldn't hesitate ordering one if I needed a commuter. I actually think the prices are reasonable for the quality you're getting. Keep up the good work, Ryan!!!
